Do Not Be Surprised

If you live in an area that has recently been hit by the flu you will not be shocked if you come across someone who has the flu. You may seek  to take measures that strengthen your immune system, perhaps an inoculation, or being aware if someone has a compromised immunity. If you do get sick you work to regain your health.

Do not be surprised if you come across someone who is charged and convinced that they are right. It is part of the illness of this time. A self righteous human being, especially one who forcefully projects their beliefs is difficult to deal with. An angry person on the highway, or a charged co worker can spark an ignition that has far more implications than one might think. This is a time to stay awake, to not become hypnotized by anyone’s disrespectful behavior. It is going to happen, but it is your choice to stay awake and act from your true values.

Train today to breathe when you become upset. Say the phrase “I AM” in the back of your mind regularly, but especially when stressed. Notice subtlety and do not allow yourself to have a tunnel vision on anyone while in conflict. Be careful not to trade what you truly value for the useless trinket of getting to feel right.

People often want to bring us into a a delusional fantasy. It is not about you. It is like arguing with someone about their invisible friend. Stepping into their delusion is not a solution. Staying committed to your values is.
