Day 11 - Don’t Stop
Just keep improving. Do not stop. Pay attention, watch your tendencies. It is OK to have issues, just do not hold them as a sacred cow. Some people make promises to God, knowing in the back of their mind that they will not keep the promise. As though God can read the front of their mind, but not the back. Don’t stop; keep improving.
Improve in the area you need to work on the most. Or the least, just keep moving forward. Be patient. Infinite patience brings about immediate results. Patience is kind as well. So improve slowly. Be sure to give yourself credit. Frame things in a way that makes you feel good. Be sure you recognize that you have improved. Do not attempt change by shaming yourself, or hating some part of your being. You are one whole, so do not objectify yourself. Do not see yourself as a means to an end.
Know what you really value. What would you value if there were no enemies? No one to dislike, or to think poorly of? What would you value? Kindness, joy, compassion, and positive indifference are the basic human values suggested. If these would be elements you value in a perfect world, you should value them in this world as well, because this world is perfect, even though it is what it is.
So do not stop. Listen closely, when you are angry. No one really hears with a closed mind. In the moments when we are angry we have the most to learn, even when we are right. Especially when we are right, because we human beings do not have a great track record of being good winners. Do not wait on the rest of us. Watch yourself and become the best you can be.
