The Most Powerful Opinions
It is my perception that the most powerful opinions are the ones that can be changed if proven wrong. These are the perceptions shaped by what is, rather than by what we insist. Living in this way gives one the ability to adapt. Like the sea meeting the shore we find a way to form ourselves to what is, even as we are part of the change to what will be.
This is not to say that we do not have a powerful sense of what is right, even to the point of being willing to die for these beliefs, or live our lives in support of them. What it does mean is that we do not have to use force or lie to ourselves when we find evidence to the contrary.
Our opinions become more powerful when tied to reality. These views are based in fact. As a result we become more persuasive as we are willing to listen rather than endlessly dictate. Force comes from the ego living in fear.
Power comes from genius that flows through us when we are open to flow. No one can predict a genius idea that flashes into the mind. You can predict with great regularity what someone will say and do when trapped in the tiny world of us against them.
Being open minded and open hearted does not mean being gullible or weak. It is actually the essence of strength to be willing to listen. Those who listen must find a common language, even with those they must fight. It is the language of compassion.
Compassion does not mean being unsafe. It simply means honestly realizing that every path followed is a series of events. Everyone we see is walking a hard road. We do not have to hate those we disagree with. In fact the best way to find our way is to give up hating anyone at all.
