Joy Is Found In Service

True joy is found in service. In active care, the respect of truly observing what is and filling the most essential need of the moment. It is found in the honesty of recognizing what is most needed. Sometimes, but not always, comes in putting others before ourselves.

However, even when this is true it serves the music of the whole. Every instrument does not need to be playing all the time in a band, and there is always a breathing in the play of elements in concert with each other. An expansion and a contraction. An inhalation always must be followed by an exhalation.

Service is that fulfillment of breath. As we give what is most needed in each moment joy is found, because joy is found in authenticity. Each of us has a mission, and it can only be found by listening to the still small voice within. It does not speak louder than our fears or our greed, so if we are tuned into those states we will miss out.

I would suggest that it is needed now. The times we live in are calling to you, to me, to all of us to find why we are here. Why are you here? We are of course here for more than one reason, but it all comes down to one: who should I serve right now? Not according to a popularity contest, but in harmony with my own heart?

Positive questions receive positive answers. Sitting back in calm confidence finds us leading from strength rather than judgement. In this fourth day of our 40 Day practice I encourage you to ask; what values are you serving? Are they positive? What are you feeling hopeful about? Who do you love? What good has come from this period? In this truly seismic time something has been uncovered. What do you serve?
