You Can’t Mess This Up

I know that most of us have struggled throughout life. I personally often had trouble imagining myself doing anything good in life. If I did, I felt that I would do something to sabotage my own success. As the old saying goes, I could not imagine myself wanting to join a group that would have me as a member.

It is easy to feel that about humanity as a whole. We seem to continue to not be our best selves. However I know that there is something in us that is noble. The world needs us to step up, to find a different relationship to our emotions and history. Eventually, somehow, we will get through this. There is something in the miracle of being, of presence that will light our way.

There is an essential goodness that is baked into life and being. There is something miraculous in presence, and something that shines through humanity. We are not just the atrocious behavior exhibited. Just as we as individuals cannot claim genius, but are fortunate if we have inspiration, so too are we as a species are graced with genius. Think of all of the great works of art, science and engineering that have come. Necessity is the mother of inspiration, and we certainly need it now.

We need to be inspired to find a way to connect with each other. We do it by recognizing the elements that lend themselves to innovation. Inviting the spirit of genius is much the same as wanting a breeze on a hot night. You cannot make one happen, but you can significantly raise your odds by opening a window.

We as a species need to access that genius now. This coming year will be an important one in all of our lives. We have to relax and reduce our stress. Activating confidence in any and all ways, it is our time to step into the world and make a difference. I could not imagine doing anything of worth, and yet I am shining into the world. I am willing to risk failure, just as we all must. We are going to succeed. You will succeed as an individual. Just do not be afraid to fail. You cannot screw this up. You were and always will be a miracle. And miracles change everything.
