Improve

Success is just getting better, improving. It does not take a lot of improvement, not much at all, just a sincere desire to improve. Pick the most challenging area of life, and make a plan, get better in that area. Or  several areas that you are strong in, and getting a little better.. Focus on the energy you put out, do not worry about the result, just get better. Confidence is infectious, just like doubt. Get in the habit of being confident.

The success is in the output, not in what you receive.Focused in doing something that supports.. You can pick 7 different areas , and do 5 of these elements each and every day, making sure that you get to all areas on a regular basis. You can chart what you are doing. Tracking how much you meditate, how often you exercise and what  practices you are doing. Benjamin Franklin attributed his success in life in creating a list of 13 different areas of focus and charting them on a regular basis.

There are many ways to frame your 40 day practice, just build very slowly. Do not jump ahead too fast. Slowly move forward. In doing so, in being consistent with the list of state changers,that list of 10 things that are soothing to you, if you take it step by step you will shift. One day you will realize that you have not had a panic attack in a month, or that you do not remember the last time you really got depressed. It is like coming in damp out of a fog, you do not notice while it is happening, but you know things are different. Finding that you do not live in fear of your emotions changes everything.

Use whatever is available to make this change. Do not wait for someone else. Get going. Do not attempt to force yourself, force does not work. Realize that this is what you truly want to do. You do want to lead in a positive way. You also want to set an example for your children and loved ones of how to come through this time. It doesn't take much to change everything, just a little bit; but giving yourself to these small improvements, well, they change everything. You can do it, everyday, just a little bit better. Do now worry about falling back. Be patient. One day you will realize that you are master of your own life, and you can love life even as it is.
