Room For Doubt Day 21

You are on a mission.  It is a path set out for you, by You.  Do not doubt it.  Perhaps even more importantly, when doubt arises do not fear it.  Doubt can feel opaque, but hang in and do what you have to do.  The darkest storm clouds eventually pass, and the sun will show itself again.  Do not doubt it.

However doubt is it’s own kind of fuel.  It can work for us, spurring us on.  It can also exist as a titillation,, something that we can gorge ourselves with like bad pizza.  Remember there is nothing so attractive to us as our purpose, except of course our fear that we will fail it.

The “will to fail” as Dorthea Brand described it so many years ago is always active.  It is a force in us that we must face both as individuals, as a nation, and as a species.  The will to fail is activated by fear and becomes so encompassing that we are always focused on it. What we focus on with intensity becomes reality. Because we spend so much energy each day on what we fear, we are actually investing in our will to fail.

There is room for doubt, but do not add too much.  Have faith in yourself, and your doubt will be part of the lesson this life offers you. Your edge and your doubt are closely aligned. When we find our edge, that weak spot in our system we find doubt  there and our willingness to compromise our values.

Breathe and get present. Relax your jaws and say I Am . Notice subtlety. Notice doubt, but do not let it rule. Get into the flow of saying yes a lot more, making a general sort of affirmation your affect rather than the mind consumed with doubt. Face doubt and understand some of the underlying elements it communicates. It is not as simple as it seems, and is an echo from the past, as well as the confusion of the world we are faced with. Find the confidence of your authentic self. Step into calm and notice where tranquility is, doubt is not.
