The Times, They Are A Changin

Most of us have heard the song by Bob Dylan. In a time of massive change. Mr Dylan sang  songs that expressed the feeling of the time and raised consciousness. Songs like  “: A Hard Rain's Going To Fall”, or “Like A Rolling Stone”. “Masters Of War” spoke to the time they were written, and still speak volumes today.

It seemed to bubble up out of him, and others of the time. Sam Cooke’s A Change is Gonna Come “rings out from past, and how little has changed, even the midst of so much. Curtis Mayfield taught to not give up with “People Get Ready.”

Some days when I feel the cracks in my heart it is a catharsis to hear Etta James sing “I’d Rather Go Blind” or to watch Stevie Ray Vaughn. The Beauty of Heatwave singing  Always and Forever or Reflections Of My Life by The Marmalade. These songs support me in the experience of joy,  in the beauty of what this life is even when it hurts

Do not underestimate the power of what you ingest! Consider music that supports confidence and hope. Check out early Cat Stevens or the Sufi Or Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the poetry of Rumi  . Study the music of Bob Marley! Wake Up and Live! Rastaman Vibration, No Woman no Cry.. We just could not live that negative way, make way for the positive day!.
