Day 1- Happy Drake Day!
I hope you had a great day during the international Drake celebration. I have had a wonderful day sitting in relation to life, in reminding myself of what I truly value, and how fortunate I am to be alive. I am grateful to be human, even with the horrific ugliness that we have perpetrated on each other. I am grateful to be living in this time as we go through this great awakening.β
There is much to be grateful for as an American, not in hiding from itβs history, just as I do not wish to hide from the history of humanity. I am grateful for the potential of America even now, including those who have had such courage in the face of overwhelming challenge. The Twin Cities can still connect to a progressive history, and a future that can find a way of healing wounds and bringing us together.
I am in celebration of the instantaneous nature of life, of the fact that we experience childhood, love, parenthood and old age in the blink of a comic eye. I celebrate because I do not want to go into the long night with words of hatred on my lips or fear in my heart.
This was a great birthday because I know that this is the best period of my life, and the point of power is now. I can choose to live with joy, with compassion, with kindness and with positive indifference.
I am in contact with my heroic nobility because I am in contact with yours. I know that this is a miracle that is a form of dream, and that you are the perfect person to wake us up. I know I will get to be me for a short time, and that confidence is infectious. We can turn this world around. I am grateful that day is a culmination, and a beginning. Thank you for being you. Happy Drake Day!
